Can cats have coconut milk?
Cats should not drink coconut milk. While coconut is not strictly toxic to cats, feline digestive systems are designed for processing meat, not high-fat plant foods. Coconuts contain concentrated oils and fats that can easily upset a cat’s stomach, leading to diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.
Furthermore, commercial coconut milks contain additives, emulsifiers, and sugars that are unhealthy for feline digestion. A tiny accidental lick will not cause severe harm, but coconut milk should never be offered as a drink or regular treat. Stick to fresh water for your cat’s hydration needs.
