Does almond milk need to be refrigerated?
Whether almond milk requires refrigeration depends on its packaging. Shelf-stable almond milk sold in aseptic cartons on grocery store aisles does not need refrigeration until opened; it can remain in a cool pantry until the package date.
Once opened, shelf-stable almond milk must be refrigerated and used within 7 to 10 days. Commercial almond milk sold in dairy refrigerated cases must be kept refrigerated at all times, both before and after opening. Homemade almond milk always requires continuous refrigeration and should be used within 3 to 5 days.
