How to make hot honey?
Making hot honey at home requires just two simple ingredients and ten minutes. Combine 1 cup of pure liquid honey and 1 to 2 tablespoons of dried red pepper flakes in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. For extra complexity, add a splash of apple cider vinegar or a slice of fresh jalapeno.
Gently warm the honey mixture for 5 to 7 minutes until hot, but do not allow it to boil, as excessive heat alters honey’s natural flavor. Remove from heat and let steep for 10 minutes. Strain the warm honey through a fine mesh sieve into a glass jar to remove pepper flakes, or leave them in for extra heat.
